Style: In Defence of... Parametricism

A series of talks looking at style. In this sixth talk, Patrik Schumacher, principal of Zaha Hadid Architects, defends Parametricism.
Parametricism is a contemporary architectural style, using programs, algorithms and computers in order to create more spatial complexity. But to its critics it is indulgent and narcissistic, a distraction from the social task of architecture. Here Patrik Schumacher - the person who coined the term - champions the style.
Style: In Defence of... is a series of talks at the Soane Museum examining the content and context of style. Across six talks, in partnership with Machine Books and Future Cities Project, leading experts defend a style, confronting us with new ideas for contemplation and critique. Each talk is lasts 30 minutes, followed by an audience discussion
