An evening workshop about stress and how thinking differently about it can make a huge difference

About this Event

HOW MUCH STRESS DO YOU HAVE IN YOUR LIFE? Do your stress responses seem more easily triggered than they used to be? Are you perhaps even living in a condition of ‘permanent’ stress with little if any respite from that horrible, tense, stomach-churning, ‘nervy’ sensation?

Or, are you just curious about the role stress plays in your own and your loved ones' lives?

Whatever your stress levels, this workshop is for you. In a safe, intimate setting and a small group (max 6), come and find out more about how wonderfully your mind and body work together to keep you safe. Learn how you can step off that stress-response (not so) merry-go-round and respond to stress-inducing situations in a different way. You might just change your ideas about stress and feel better about the whole issue...

This workshop is divided into several sections:We'll start with a cuppa, introduce ourselves to each other and then have five minutes of blissful wind-down. I'll then present some information about the effects of stress on the mind and body; fascinating physiological ’nuts and bolts' of stress.

Next, we will look at how the Alexander Technique is relevant to everything you want to do in life and how it can help you, including the way you handle stress. I’ll demonstrate this on at least two of you – perhaps more, if we have time.

We’ll take a short menu of stressful situations and (only if you wish) explore them in a supportive, safe environment; reasoning out together alternative ways of handling them.

And we’ll conclude with some very good news...
