Description

The need for effective reputation management in an ever-changing media landscape has never been greater! Yet it can prove difficult to juggle all of the new directions influencing how a brand is perceived by its customers, stakeholders and employees – especially with restricted budgets and resources.

The CIPR East Anglia Group is hosting an event entitled: ‘Successful Brand Reputation Management,’ on Friday 26th January in the Edwards Room at Norfolk County Hall, Norwich, where you can listen to three leading reputation experts in Norfolk discuss their experience, share case studies as well as invaluable hints & tips, with the opportunity for audience members to ask questions at the end of each 20 minute presentation.

Our three experts will be:

Patrick Peal, Chief Executive of East Anglian Air Ambulance

Patrick began his PR career in 1989 at Group Lotus as Head of Comms. He left in 1996 and set up what was to become Tribe, an award-winning PR agency based in Norwich. The agency closed in 2016 when he took on the East Anglia Air Ambulance Chief Exec role full time. “Reputation management is walking a tightrope – much like life itself…”

Mel Atkinson, Communications Account Manager for Norfolk County Council

Mel has more than 25 years of experience in media and communications, handling the most sensitive issues in highly political environments. He spent 15 years as a regional journalist, including 11 years as political correspondent at the Leicester Mercury. He then led media management at Leicestershire County Council for 11 years, helping the council raise its public trust rating from 60 per cent to 83 per cent during the first five years of austerity. In April, he joined Norfolk County Council as a communications manager, where he leads comms on adults’ and children’s services, the council’s budget savings and its future direction.

Nicola Atter, Corporate Communications Manager (Norfolk) for Norfolk Police

An accomplished and skilled public relations professional, Nicola has worked across Norfolk in public organisations and private company PR in management and team roles to deliver news and information tailored to a variety of audiences. Nicola has over eighteen years of experience in crisis communications, public affairs, media relations, change communications and external engagement, often in high profile, pressured or live situations. She has led the police communications response to recent events such as the risk to Norfolk from flooding in January, the change in threat level around terrorism for the county, the policing response to county wide drug dealing and the East Harling murder.
