About this event

A walk under the stars

Get together with friends and family to walk the 5k or 10k route around the quant cobbled streets of Otley. In the shadow of the iconic Chevin this night-time walk crosses the River Wharfe and meanders through Otley.

With entertainment en route and a dedication area where you can take a moment to remember a loved one, you'll be joining together with hundreds of others to celebrate the lives of those we love and miss.

Together we can ensure no one has to face death or grief alone

Last year over 9,400 people across the country were cared for by Sue Ryder’s hospice teams, including from our Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice or in their own homes in the community. Our dedicated Sue Ryder Nurses manage patients' pain and symptoms, enabling them to spend their final days surrounded by family and friends.

By taking part and raising sponsorship, you'll make every step count, ensuring that no one has to face death or grief alone.

We are there when it matters

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can access the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone.

Currently, only a third of our hospice funding comes from the government. This means we completely rely on the generosity of our amazing supporters to cover the remaining costs of our end of life care and services for grieving families.

75p in every £1 spent goes towards our palliative and bereavement support.
