Create Your Own Sugar Skull Designed Mask Workshop
Join us at The Paxton Centre for a wonderfully creative session as we draw near to All Hallows' Eve. This will be a fun and creative workshop with artist Joanna Scott designing and decorating colourful sugar skulls – the iconic Calavera linked to the Mexican Día de los Muertos tradition.
The sugar skull is a joyful way to pay homage to loved ones who have passed. Traditionally made from sugar or clay, these skulls are decorated with vibrant colours, beads, and patterns – celebrating life rather than mourning death. Our masks will be made of cardboard and we will have an abundance of brightly coloured beads, paints and other craft materials.
No experience needed and all materials are provided. Thanks to the National Lottery Community Fund, the event is free, but booking is essential. Donations to Homelands Trust-Fife are always welcome. Refreshments will be available.
Don’t miss this unique chance to create a mask (possibly just in time for guising?).
