The 'Connecting with People' approach ensures that everyone in distress and at risk of suicide is taken seriously and patients are supported to co-produce a safety plan.

This session is suitable for all practitioners who hold a formal mental health assessment role and who have been trained appropriately for this role.

Participants will understand how to use the clinical tool, SAFETool, to support their assessment of a patient at risk of suicide. They will practice triage, assessment and referral skills using a clinical case to facilitate referral to Mental Health services if needed and will know how to co-produce a safety plan.

Participants will be provided with access to a further short online module that must be completed in order to be accredited to use SAFETool.
