Suicide First Aid Lite Workshop
Event Information
About this Event
Most of us have been affected by suicide. It happens all around us: in our schools, in our workplaces, in our communities. More and more people across the UK are qualifying in suicide prevention. You could be one of them.
Attend our half-day Suicide First Aid workshop and learn a step-by-step guide to recognise and help someone who is thinking of killing themselves to consider their options and stay safe.
Did you know that 1 in 5 of us will have thoughts of suicide at some point in our life?
Most people thinking of suicide never get an opportunity to have an open conversation, and many make the biggest decision of their life without talking through what their intentions are. The outcome could be so different. Let's learn a different kind of conversation.
This training is underpinned by 3 core beliefs
- Most people thinking of suicide do not want their lives to end, they want the pain to stop. Therefore...
- Most people thinking about suicide let others know either consciously or unconsciously. Therefore, if we knew the signs and how to respond...
- Suicide has to be one of the most preventable deaths
Investing 3 hours of your time to learn the signs and how to respond could save a life
The workshop is delivered in two 90 minute sessions, with ample time for breaks and discussions. I pride myself in creating emotionally safe spaces where people feel comfortable to explore the most emotive of topics.
