This webinar for frontline workers in Southampton aims to explore the intersections between domestic abuse and suicidality. It will provide information about suicide prevention for victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse. The session will explore risk factors, impact on mental wellbeing, what to look out for, safety planning, and what support is available. We hope to offer a supportive and collaborative space to build confidence in talking about suicide and suicide prevention.
Due to the limitations of the length of the session you may find it useful to access resources, videos, and basic information on having conversations about suicide through the Zero Suicide Alliance (ZSA) website before attending this local webinar on domestic abuse and suicide prevention.
Learning outcomes:
- Raise awareness of the links between domestic abuse and suicide or self-harm
- Discuss how self-harm and attempted suicide can be an indicator of domestic abuse
- Identify barriers to support for people impacted by domestic abuse
- Identify key resources for support, advice and information
