Join Choir Leader Eleanor Rastall, accompanist Ben Lewis-Smith and members of Encore choir for a short and sweet summer choir mini-series. All adults who want to sing welcome, no experience needed.
3 fun sessions to:
😄 keep your singing going over the summer break (or try being in a choir for the first time with this no-strings taster series)
🎶 have a creative interlude learning something new
💪 explore some positive challenges with the chance to achieve something bigger than you could do alone
❤️ enhance your physical and mental wellbeing
🤝 meet some local people and work on something new together
Each session includes:
- a physical and vocal warm up - to get energised and focused for the week, engage with the group, release some tension and get our voices buzzing!
- learning a round or simple song all together then creating some harmony and different layers of challenge by adding elements as we go
- working on a couple of songs in different styles and 3 or 4 part harmony, with piano accompaniment
- a quick break in the middle to chat, relax and get to know people
Perfection is not expected, laughter is!
What Eleanor's choir members say:
“A lovely way to loosen up, learn loads and laugh a lot”
"Choir is something that I do for me and has been a wonderful way to meet new people, collaborate with fellow singers and perform in some amazing local venues"
"Highlight of the week"
Bring water and a pencil and anything else you might need (eg snacks, layers or fans depending on the weather!)
