Event description

Description

Scope of the event

During 3 days of summer course, regional practitioners will acquire knowledge, valuable contacts and skills to prepare high quality project proposals for their regional development agencies. The course is focused on programmes useful for regional development agencies like H2020, COSME or Interreg Europe. The project proposals will support territorial cooperation, innovations in companies and regional economic development.

Approach

During the summer course all the interesting calls for regional development agencies and explanations about successful projects in these calls will be presented. During each session, there will be detailed explanations of the different aspects to be considered when preparing a proposal: plan of activities, consortium partnership, intellectual property rights, communication, budget, etc.

Structure of the event

Examples of project ideas

The course will start with a pitch of new proposals which will be discussed by a panel of experienced project managers and the other participants.

Learning from experience

Well-know experienced EU project consultants from leading companies like ARTTIC, PNO Consultants (tbc) or Zabala, Communication Package will provide practical insights on how to prepare the different aspects of project proposals. Practical approaches will be given with the project proposals from the participants.

Detailed knowledge of calls

During the course we will present the participants with information on relevant calls for regional development agencies such as INNOSUP-05-2016-2017: Peer learning of innovation agencies, H2020-INNOSUP-01-2016 Cluster facilitated projects for new industrial value chains and Watify, the communication campaing of the European Commission for the modernisaton and digitalisation of industries. These calls will be illustrated through practical examples.

Audience

The course is aimed at practitioners and officers of regional economic development agencies. They will benefit from its practical approach and mentoring by people with a proven track record in managing European projects. Participation is limited to 30 persons, in order to facilitate interactions and to allow for the in-depth analysis of each participant's project ideas.

Expected results

First and foremost, this summer course provides regional practitioners a complete view of all the possibilities to prepare project proposals for EU programmes. Participants will get the chance to interact with EU project officers managing the calls and with experienced consultants that can provide useful advice. Furthermore, during the summer course, the regional practitioners well get to work on mock proposals and new project ideas of other regional practitioners in similar situations. Ideally these proposals and the working consortiums established will lead to prepare actual proposals.
