About this event

Come along to Chippenham Community Gardens for a morning of stone fruit tree pruning. Spend the day outdoors, meet new people and learn new skills!

This is a free activity, you will get the opportunity to:

  • Learn how to assess the health of the trees and what cuts need to be made
  • The safe use of pruning equipment
  • Have a go yourselves at pruning the stone fruit trees onsite

Please arrive at 10am to go through safety and demonstrations.

We will provide light refreshments and all the tools you need for pruning. Please wear closed, sensible outdoor footwear and gardening clothes. In case of hot weather bring sun protection and lots of water to drink.

This session is recommended for adults, under 18s must be supervised and can only use the tools at the discretion of, and with ongoing supervision from parents/guardians.

There are no toilets onsite.

It can be tricky to find the entrance so I would advise using the what3words: handle.update.bank.

Entrance is through the gate and then follow the path around into the gardens. If you have any questions or access requirements please email: joe.ford@theorchardproject.org.uk or call: 07525115209 on the day.

We're looking forward to seeing you for a fun day of pruning! It will help to bring the fruit trees back to health and hopefully provide the community with more delicious, local fruit.
