Thank you for planning a visit to Fort Nelson. We are really looking forward to seeing you. The Fort will be open every day from 10am to 5pm throughout the summer holidays.

Pre-book your arrival time To allow us to manage the number of visitors arriving at the Fort at any one time we need you to book an arrival time in advance and let us know how many people will be in your party. Once at the museum you may stay as long as you wish.

Book a parking space £3 per car.

Parking is free for blue badge holders. We have 4 spaces near the museum entrance available on a first-come-first-served basis.

We recommend pre-booking your arrival time and parking to guarantee your visit as we will be restricting the number of visitors on site to help keep everyone safe. You are welcome to visit without booking but you may have to wait to enter or return later in the day.

Please be aware that due to the continued impact of COVID-19, our staff team may have to self-isolate at short notice. Unfortunately, this may affect our ability keep the museum fully open and to deliver our live events programme. We will only close the museum as a last resort if we cannot open safely. All updates will be communicated on our Facebook and Twitter pages as well as on our website.

If we are required to close the site to visitors we will automatically refund any charges for parking and the assault course for the dates affected. Refunds will be issued within 10 working days.
