It's time for Hopwood Hall Estate to create new memories as we open the doors for guests to enjoy a Picnic on the Lawn to celebrate the publication of Downton Shabby (aka Hopwood Hall) with author Hopwood DePree.

You are invited to take a tour of some of the rooms inside Hopwood Hall, to chat to some of the volunteers who are helping to rescue the Hall and learn about the work that they have been doing.

Wander around the gardens and then enjoy your picnic on the lawn - we will provide tea, coffee, soft drinks, cake and music.

If you have already have a copy of Downton Shabby, Hopwood will be delighted to sign it, or if you wish, you can purchase one on the day at the Hall.

It is still a bit rough & dusty at the Hall so please dress casually and don't forget your picnic blanket! We are really looking forward to seeing you there!

This event is FREE to fully paid up 'Hopwood Foundation Friends' Members and £5 per person for non-members. All proceeds will go towards the continued rescue of the Hall via the Hopwood Foundation charity.

For your safety, comfort and convenience please read the following guidance notes carefully:

THE HALL IS CURRENTLY A DANGEROUS BUILDING SO THESE PRECAUTIONS MUST BE FOLLOWED

Wear sturdy shoes.

Dress for the weather; there is no heat in the Hall.

It will be dusty/dirty in the Hall - please dress accordingly.

Hopwood Hall is in the middle of an extensive restoration process and currently does not have level access; limited disabled access arrangements are in place. If you have any mobility or disability issues or hearing impairment, please advise when responding.

For health and safety reasons, guests must be at least 13 years of age.

Once your booking is confirmed, details of parking & entry instructions will be emailed to you in advance of the event. Please note that each visitor's name & email address must be entered individually so we know exactly who will be attending and are able to contact them with updates.

YOU WILL NEED TO PRINT OFF YOUR TICKET FOR ENTRY. Please remember that ALL attendees must be current ‘Hopwood Foundation Friends'. Renewals or new memberships can be processed immediately at just £10 for the year by clicking on the following link:
