Francis Willughby and the Study of Birds, by Professor Tim Birkhead
Professor Tim Birkhead, ornithologist and author, examines the way Francis Willughby changed how we study birds in what is effectively the most important and exciting transition in the history of ornithology.
The lecture will last for around 1 hour and your ticket allows you entrance into the Hall, Gardens and Grounds for the entire day, 11am until 4pm. There is an option to purchase tickets for all four lectures at a discounted price. The three other lectures are;
Sunday 7th May at 2pm - Francis Willughby - His Life and Legacy, by Dr Dorothy Johnston
Wednesday 24th May at 12 noon – Francis Willughby’s European Field Trip, by Professor Mark Greengrass
Wednesday 14th June at 12 noon - The Avian Tree of Life, by Dr Gavin Thomas
