As an industry group we need consider alternative support mechanisms, and if there is agreement, move our policies towards those actions which are most appropriate. The purpose of this meeting is to debate and discuss the merits and disadvantages of each of them.

A requirement for all generators to generate in accordance with scheduled dispatch and more volatile imbalance charges;
Improved contract terms for the ancillary services and energy markets (Introduced by John Prendergast)
To align receipt of Feed in Tariffs only to renewable generation linked to electricity storage; (Introduced by John Samuel)
A “feed out tariff” from storage;
A subsidy paid for the capital installation of new project;
Banding for storage providing capacity, reserve or balancing services; (Introduced by Matt Barnett)
Tax relief on storage installations.
Members who wish to address any of these topics are asked to inform Anthony Price as soon as possible. All members are invited to consider these, and other actions and to arrive prepared to highlight issues and consequences of each of them. Please note that speakers are not necessarily presenting their own views nor the views of their company, but are introducing the topic in order to encourage discussion.
The meeting is free to ESN Members (2 delegates per company) and a nominal charge for non members or additional delegates to defray costs of room hire.
