Description
New for the Decorative Home & Salvage Shows 2019 is a programme of inspirational, interactive and hands-on workshops curated and hosted by writer and interior stylist Alice Roberton for Arthur Swallow Fairs. If you’ve ever wondered how to breathe life and luxury into out-dated furniture, how to make a stylish home using reclaimed and repurposed itemsor how to make a fully recyclable seasonal wreath then book into one of our workshops now. All workshops are led by an expert in their field and have been tailored to those who love making a unique, salvaged home. Sessions will be in small groups of 12 to 20, will last approximately an hour each and should be booked in advance to avoid disappointment. Each ticket gives you free entry to the event (worth £7.50) and a glass of complimentary fizz (or soft drink).
Storytelling, Sourcing & Styling: how to bring joy into your home with decorative and salvage objects

Inspirational session with Clare Watson, owner of Turmeric House and creative rebel with a talent for re-imagining interiors and setting spaces alight with enthralling ideas. Clare has created eye-catching installations for clients such as Soho House Group, Anthropologie and Somerset House.
With a passion for good interiors and a love of the stories behind the objects we choose for our home, Clare will offer guidance on sourcing decorative and salvage items and tips on how to style them into your living space, as well as introducing you to the concept of a mood board as a means to bring joy into your home.
Get Creative with Lavender: how to handmake Victorian-inspired decorate items to scent your home
Saturday 13th July 1pm - 2pm
£12.50 per person - to include free entry to the event and a glass of fizz (or soft drink)
Hands-on creative session with Karen Rogers, crafter, creative home-maker and owner of Surrey-based decorative antiques and vintage business Karen Lesley Vintage.
Karen will introduce you to the Victorian art of drying and using lavender to keep linen fresh and moth-free and guide you through how to make your own lavender bag and wand to add decoration and scent to you home. You’ll be provided with all the materials you need: dried lavender, a selection of vintage linen, lace, embroidered tray cloths, ribbons and buttons. You’ll take your finished items home with you.
Vintage-Inspired Floral Design and Styling Masterclass
Saturday 13th July 2:30pm - 3:30pm
£25.00 per person - to include free entry to the event, a glass of fizz (or soft drink) and your finished hand-held floral arrangement.
Inspirational, hands-on session with floral designer and stylist Hannah Antmann from Saint Floral who is known for creating romantic floral displays inspired by art, vintage textiles and decorative antiques. With notable clients such as Jo Malone London, Rockett St George and Pearl Lowe, her other-worldly installations bring interior spaces to life.
Join Hannah for an inspiring hour of romantic floral storytelling and learn how to create and artfully style a vintage-inspired hand-held arrangement to sit in your favourite vase. During this step-by-step masterclass you’ll use summer flowers, foliage and a sprinkling of preserved botanicals whilst picking up insider floristry and styling tips.
Please note: Feel free to bring along a small vase from home or one you’ve purchased from the show to transport your arrangement home in, however you will be provided with a flower bag. There will be an opportunity to photograph your finished item on a pre-styled table, so please bring a camera or smartphone.
Event Information
The Decorative Home & Salvage Show takes place at Loseley Park near Guildford, Surrey, 12th – 14th July and offers a relaxed way to shop for your indoor or outdoor living space. Visit for excellent salvage and industrial items, period home fixtures and fittings, decorative and architectural antiques, garden furniture and statuary and beautiful one-off homewares.
