Free Summer Workshops for Year 6 StudentsThe Essex Mental Health Support Team is offering free workshops this summer to help young people:

  • Build confidence and resilience
  • Learn new skills
  • Make friends before starting secondary school

Perfect for those moving into Year 7!

Spaces are limited, so please book your child’s place with the secondary school they’ll be attending in September 2025.

Terms and Conditions

1.0 Collection ​

On the Eventbrite sign-up form please choose if you comfortable for your child to leave the premises on their own or if they are to be collected. If you have not provided permission for them to leave without an adult, we will expect them to be collected, if there are any concerns on the day a staff member will call the emergency contact.

2.0 Food and Drink​

Please ensure you send your child with a named water bottle for the session. ​

We kindly request that no food is bought to the event, to minimise any risk of food allergies for other children. ​

3.0 Allergies ​

You will need to advise the team of any allergies on the Eventbrite sign up form. If there has been a change since you completed the form or you would like to ensure that have the correct information, please contact us, details below. ​

4.0 Basic First Aid ​

We will have first aiders on site and relevant equipment for basic first aid. If you do not consent to us providing basic first aid to your child, please indicate this on the Eventbrite sign-up form. ​

Please note that we will not be able to administer any medication (unless this is a child own prescribed epi pen)​

5.0 Emergency Contacts ​

Please ensure the emergency contact is available at all times whilst your child is in the workshop. ​

6.0 Cancellation​

If your child is unable to attend the event, please cancel via Eventbrite.​​

7.0 Clothing ​

Please ensure that pupils attending the workshop are appropriately dressed for the activities i.e. loose comfortable clothing/active wear.​

8.0 Fire Safety ​

There will be a housekeeping presentation at the beginning of each workshop which will provide clear information on what should be done in the event of an emergency and show fire exits and meeting points. ​

9.0 Photography ​

We will be taking photographs during the workshop to use on newsletters and communications promoting the Mental Health Support Team (MHST), they will not include personal details of the young people attending if you do not give permission for photographs to be taken, please indicate this on the Eventbrite sign-up form. ​

10.0 Mobile Phones ​

We understand that children may wish to bring their own mobile phones to the session with them, they are not permitted to be used these during the workshop and will be asked to turn them off or to be put into silent mode.​

11.0 Safeguarding ​

The NHS and MHST are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We expect all practitioners and additional staff to share that commitment. ​We follow safer recruitment practice and appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory references. We have a duty of care towards every child and person who comes into contact with our service and will provide all relevant care to ensure their welfare and safety is met. ​

12.0 Safety and Welfare

If any of the MHST staff identify behaviour that is deemed unacceptable or unsafe, we will call the emergency contact and you may be asked to collect your child earlier than expected.
