Would you like to learn more about pruning fruit trees in summer?
Come along and join us at Kehelland Trust at this FREE workshop which is being led by Sally Pyner of Kehelland Trust and Michelle Lawson of Resilient Orchards with the support of Forest for Cornwall.
Some fruit trees can only be pruned in summer, this includes stone fruits such as cherries and plums. However, all trained trees such as espaliers can also be pruned in summer AND free standing fruit trees like apples for better fruiting too.
Participants will learn how to Summer prune in a couple of different scenarios
- Summer pruning of stone fruit (plums & cherries)
- Summer pruning for productivity (Standards & espaliers)
The workshop will start at 10am and finish at 2pm.
Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.
Gloves and equipment will be supplied but if you have your own gloves and secateurs please bring these with you.
