Summer holidays are here!

THIS IS A 2 WEEK COURSE especially for young people aged 13-19! Part of our 2025 Summer School Programme!

Pick up a new hobby this summer and join us for our Beginners Crochet Course with brilliant local artist Bev Rhodes. You'll learn all ther basics of crochet and start making your own items and clothing.

Crochet is such a fun and versatile skill to learn and there are so many things that you can make once you've learnt a few basic stitches. It is also a great hobby to have to help you relax and look after your everyday wellbeing. Crocheting also has many health benefits including relieving stress and building self-esteem.

In this beginner’s crochet course, you will learn how to master five basic crochet stitches, change yarn colours and make granny squares which can be turned into clothing, bags, patches and homewares.

All materials are included and you will leave with your completed crochet pieces and the confidence to carry on crocheting at home.

The course is suitable for complete beginners or those wanting to refresh their skills.

Drinks & Snacks are included.

To ensure this Beginners Crochet Course is accessible to everyone we have made it Pay What You Can for the 2-week Course. We have suggested £10 per session to help cover costs but if this is not affordable for you then please input what you can. (When booking, please add a donation of however much you can afford for the 2-week course). Any donation is welcome. If you have any questions about bookings, please contact us by email on jen@stitch-up.org.uk or pop into the Stitch-Up Studio.

Stitch-Up CIC is a social enterprise and any profits we make are reinvested straight back into delivering our creative community projects supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people in Leeds to learn new skills and improve wellbeing.

We will also be using this time to gain feedback from participants about what creative activities they would like to see going forward at Meanwood Community Centre so all feedback is greatly appreciated.

There is ample parking available at the Community Centre Car Park. If you cannot fit in the Car Park, please park on the main part of Stainbeck Avenue, with consideration to the residents please do not park in the cul-de-sac.

The Stitch-Up Studio is to the rear of the Community Centre. Once you arrive in reception please follow the signs for Stitch-Up.

You can follow us on Instagram @stitch_up or Facebook on STITCHUPLEEDS to keep up to date with what we are up to or visit our website stitch-up.org.uk.
