About this Event

COURSE TOPIC - INSPIRED BY NATURE

In this week long deep dive into drawing and painting we will be taking inspiration from nature, creating sketches, studies & creative responses, in the landscape, the woodlands and amongst the flora and fauna. We will be developing these outdoor studies, from pencil, ink and watercolour, into paintings developed in the studio.

Join us to work in a supportive and relaxed environment to develop your skills in drawing and painting and enjoy the stunning Moray landscape. Whether a complete beginner, or experienced artist, you will gain huge value from taking the time to focus on developing new work in response to the beautiful environment surrounding the Moray art centre.

All materials are provided along with a delicious light lunch each day. Please notify us at time of booking if you have any dietary requirements.

Note the 10% Early-Bird discount for payments made before the end of February!

Diane Main studied art for seven years gaining a 1st Class BA (Hons) Degree in Drawing and Painting, and a Masters Degree in Fine Art, both from Glasgow School of Art.

Following on from her education Diane began teaching at The Visual Art Studios in Glasgow. Holding a range of drawing classes from Life Drawing to expressive drawing. After three years developing her teaching skills Diane then, began teaching at Glasgow School of Art in the Department of Continuing Education. Teaching Life Drawing/Painting, Portrait Drawing/Painting Courses and a Creative Development Course in Painting.

Diane also taught at the GSA Summer School, and during the summer of 2019, was the tutor for the Landscape Painting Course at the GSA Campus in Forres.

In 2006, Diane chose to relocate to the Forres area to focus on raising her two young children. Striving to get back into teaching in 2009 Diane was one of 20 Scottish Artists to attend a year long course, The Arts Practice In Education Professional Development Award.

Diane continues to live and work in Forres, She enjoys sharing her rich resource of knowledge, and has developed a keen interest in the creative process itself, the backbone of creativity. Assisting individuals to find their own reliable creative methods, so that this enables them to actively participate with their own creative impetus.

Diane continues her own artistic practice, often drawing outdoors and developing these into larger more realised paintings in her studio.

As a teacher Diane is concerned with creating a warm and friendly environment for all her participants.
