Event description
Life expressing itself; exploring creativity through making artwork

About this Event

In this workshop we’ll be exploring our inherent creativity. Along with making artwork, using different techniques and materials, we’ll introduce you to an understanding of how we work as human beings & the practical implications this has for us in making art (as well as in all other areas of life!).

We’re always safe to create; the only thing that makes us feel insecure at times is what we’re telling ourselves. The deeper we see the truth of that, the freer we feel to have a go without so much riding on the outcome. Life becomes more playful, with continual opportunities to explore & experiment. Once you start to see your creative nature more clearly & to live it more fully, life gets way more interesting & exciting. You’ll see the reality that life - including art – is always full of possibilities.

This is not a techniques course as such, the focus is on experiencing your creative nature; more on the process than the outcome. However you may well surprise yourself with what you create! The workshop is suitable for anyone who’s curious to deepen their understanding of their own creativity so that they can express themselves more freely & joyfully. All levels of experience & skill in making artwork are welcome. Naomi & I will lead the workshop and will be there to support you through the week.

All necessary materials will be provided and light lunches and refreshments will be available. Please notify us at time of booking if you have any dietary requirements.

Note the 10% Early-Bird discount for payments made before the end of February!

Jean Floyed

Jean is a former Organisational Psychologist & Integrative Arts Psychotherapist. She has a BA (Hons) 1st class from Moray School of Art and an MFA with Distinction from Duncan of Jordanstone (Dundee). Her current practice is as a visual artist and as a life coach. She is based in Forres, Moray. She’s been on her own journey to better understand creativity for many years. She’s passionate about sharing what she’s learned and loves supporting people to see them wake up to an increased sense of their essentially creative nature and the abundance that’s always available to them.

Naomi Ojima

Naomi Ojima, originally from Japan, studied Fine Art in Japan and Scotland. She graduated from Moray School of Art with a First class BA (Hons.) in 2012. She exhibited her work in Japan, London, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and locally.

Now she lives and works in Findhorn, Forres and also a member of ‘the Orchard Road Studios’. Her work explores the true nature of all beings and life itself before we process our perception of them by our minds. It is expressed through different medias.
