Summer Schools: Building bridges (age 10–12)
Mon 31 July 2017, 14:00 – 16:30 BST
People and animals have crossed rivers and gorges for thousands of years. From stone slabs and rope bridges to amazing modern bridges, they basically have the same idea–to provide a safe crossing. Alan Davies will explore different types of bridges in this workshop, looking at old and new, from simple structures to engineering wonders. Students will design their own bridges according to a specific brief, constructing them and testing the final result.
Please note: This workshop is strictly for 10–12 year-olds. There will be a short break during the workshop and a drink and a small snack will be provided. Students should bring their own snack if they have any allergies
This workshop is based on an Ri Engineering Masterclass. Students who have attended a Masterclass series which included a session on a similar topic may have already seen some of the content in this workshop. Please contact us on email@example.com with any questions.
Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (fourteen calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
