Summer Schools: Exploring shapes (age 10–12)
Tue 15 August 2017, 14:00 – 16:30 BST
Embarking on a journey of discovering the 5 platonic solids and their properties through a series of puzzles and games with Caroline Ainslie. Students will be creating giant platonic solids out of balloons as well as other (easy to find in the home and at school) materials. Why are there only 5 platonic solids? Where do we find platonic solids in real life? What surprises are there in store for us?
This workshop is strictly for 10–12 year-olds. There will be a short break during the workshop and a drink and a small snack will be provided. Students should bring their own snack if they have any allergies
This workshop is based on an Ri Mathematics Masterclass. Students who have attended a Masterclass series which included a session on a similar topic may have already seen some of the content in this workshop. Please contact us on firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (fourteen calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
