Event description

Description

‘My soul is spiralling in frozen fractals all around’ sings Elsa, but do you know what a fractal is? Natalya Silcott will introduce you to these fascinating patterns, to some famous fractals and to their many uses and applications. Students will create their own Sierpinski Triangles and then come together to build a giant one!

Please note:

Please note, this workshop is strictly for 7–9 year-olds. There will be a short break during the workshop and a drink and a small snack will be provided. Students should bring their own snack if they have any allergies

The Mathematics Summer School workshops are based on Ri Mathematics Masterclasses. Students who have attended a Masterclass series which included a session on a similar topic may have already seen some of the content in this workshop. Please contact us on summerschools@ri.ac.uk with any questions.

Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (14 calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
