Event Details

This workshop will introduce students to the use of computing in exploring mathematical ideas. David Vaccaro will teach them the basics of mathematical software Wolfram Mathematica before setting off in teams to explore a question of their choosing using the programme. A great introduction to this powerful coding language.

Please Note: This workshop is strictly for 16–18 year-olds and will include a 45 minute unsupervised lunch break. Students can bring their own laptops, or use one of the Ri laptops on the day. Bringing your own laptop will mean students can take their projects home with them at the end of the day. Students should bring lunch and a drink, pens and pencils.

This workshop is based on an Ri Computer Science Masterclass. Students who have attended a Masterclass series which included a session on a similar topic may have already seen some of the content in this workshop. Please contact us on summerschools@ri.ac.uk with any questions.

Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (fourteen calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
