Summer Schools: Mathematical modelling for beginners (age 7–9)
Tue 25 July 2017, 10:30 – 12:45 BST
In this session, Emma Lord will explore how mathematicians use modelling to predict what can happen in real–life. Students will see how mathematicians model diseases and explore this by modelling the spread of a virtual disease through the class. They will find out how modelling rabbits helps us predict the future and use modelling skills to set up their very own shop.
Please note: This workshop is strictly for 7–9 year-olds. There will be a short break during the workshop and a drink and a small snack will be provided. Students should bring their own snack if they have any allergies
Mathematics Summer School workshops are based on Ri Masterclasses. Students who have attended a Masterclass series which included a session on a similar topic may have already seen some of the content in this workshop. Please contact us on email@example.com with any questions.
Refunds can only be issued for tickets cancelled at least two weeks (fourteen calendar days) in advance of the event date. Please note that this supersedes our normal event terms and conditions.
