Event Details

In this workshop with Perry Childs, students will experience the rapid development lifecycle of robotics by designing and building their own ‘Cardbot’ in just one day!

This fun packed challenging day will teach you how to build your own self-controlled robot using the open source Arduino micro controller, an ultrasonic distance sensor, light sensor, two motors and motor driver board. You will experience what it takes from an initial idea and deliver it using the ‘development lifecycle’ approach, just like in industry.

You will learn how to build and upload simple logic programmes to bring your creations to life. Throughout the day you will have a series of tasks to complete so that you can demonstrate your new found robotic skills. You will work in teams to complete the day’s tasks and see which team has built the best performing robot.
