About this event

Summer Sessions 22

Bringing the City to The Town...

The Copper Tap working alongside Revival promotions are proud to announce the following headline artists will be joining us at Summer Sessions '22

Ryan McMullan - Friday 29th July

Supported By : John Garrity : Two Degrees : Matthew Crampsey : Art Deko

Ryan McMullan’s talent is the jewel in the crown of the current popular music scene. With a voice raw with story telling and filled with rich and varied tones, Ryan’s youth clearly doesn't deter from his ability to communicate story and emotion. Home to the likes of Foy Vance and John Garrity, Northern Ireland is and always has been a hub of song writing talent. Ryan McMullan is no exception.

Hailing from Portaferry, a small seaside town in Northern Ireland, the 29 year old is one of the most instantly recognisable singer/songwriter in the Music scene. With a voice reminiscent of Paolo Nutini and early Tom Waits, Ryan's voice is synonymous with hit recordings such as Oh Susanna & Bowie On The Radio as well as a spine tingling rendition of Streets Of New York, Ryan and his team recently released a fly on the wall documentary following his rise to stardom as well as releasing is full length album earlier this year 'The Debut'.

Pre Lockdown's Ryan has toured the world supporting Ed Sheeran, Foy Vance & Snow Patrol as well as creating some sensational songs alongside Beoga, The Copper Tap fully believes on Ryan's rise to the top and look forward to partnering with him for a evening's entertainment we will never forget at Summer Sessions '22.

Ryan recently joined us at The Copper Tap for a highly regarded 'Secret Set' concept, a night where a small crowd of approximately 150 experienced a night of music they will never forget. We are delighted to have him back to headline one of our three evenings at Summer Sessions 22.

Hermitage Green - Saturday 30th July

Supported By : CEOL : Cool Hand String Band : The Knights

Hermitage Green, hailing from Limerick City, Hermitage Green have are one of the fastest emerging bands in the Country having made a huge impact in a short period of time. 2019 saw hermitage green carry out a sell out tour of Australia, Canada, The United States, Middle East & Europe, Hermitage Green completed a nationwide tour of Ireland in 2021. The Copper Tap & Revival Promotions are proud now to bring Hermitage Green to Omagh in 2021.

“Gold & Rust - the title was inspired by a lyric that Darragh Griffin wrote in the song 'Bring It On Down'. I suppose as an album title it represents the many contrasts of being in a band in 2017. The ups and downs, highs and lows, whatever you want to call it... From playing the mainstage at Electric Picnic, to getting laughed out the door of a bank when looking for a mortgage. From walking out of a sold out Olympia Theatre in Dublin, to playing to 7 people in a town somewhere in the U.S. From telling your bandmates you love them and would do anything for them, to trying to kill your bandmates because they piss you off sometimes. 'Gold & Rust' is the dichotomy between the struggle and the absolute privilege of doing what you love for a living.”

CEOL is a new band of 5 lads from all over Ireland with a passion for folk music. Founded and managed by Nathan Carter and Liam McKenna Darragh (20, Dublin), Matthew (25, Donegal), Cathal (22, Dublin) Daryl (26, Kildare) James (24, Wexford) Taking inspiration from The Dubliners, The Chieftans, Mumford and Sons and many other great Irish and international artists before them, Ceol aim to bring folk music to a new generation.

Nathan Carter said: “ The idea came to me when I was travelling aro und Ireland and seeing so many talented young musicians singing and playing in pubs every night of the week. I thought to myself, there is an opening here for a great young band who play a mix of the old folk songs with a contemporary modern twist.

CEOL got together in mid 2021, after a nationwide search from more than 1,000 people. They have been writing and recording throughout autumn and winter 2021. CEOL have just performed their first ever live gigs supporting Nathan Carter in front of 5,000 fans ov er 2 nights at the Waterfront in Belfast. The Copper Tap also played a role with an the meeting of Nathan Carter & Matthew Crampsey in Mid 2021, one dining with us and the other Gigging with us, the freak meeting would go on to lead too Matthew being one of the first members of Ceol.
