Description

Tales of Burning

A 16th century Caucasian love-epic, interwoven with family stories

When Vergine began working on the craft of telling traditional tales, 25 years ago, her interest led her to research the rich Armenian oral tradition of story and song that reveals the wonder of life. She was drawn to stories that resonated with her own experience. It is this combination of the traditional and the personal that makes her performances so compelling.

Vergine has developed and performed shows from traditional tales and epics in a variety of settings; from Arts Centres such as the Barbican Pit, village halls in the Pennines, festivals, museums, schools and storytelling clubs. This will be her first performance in the chimney of a timber-framed house.

Vergine Gulbenkian

The performance is 75 minutes without interval and suitable for ages 13 and over.

A buffet of Armenian dishes will be served after the show.
