About this event

  • Event lasts 4 hours

Learn about identifying trees in Summer on this AQA course which is designed to help us to build a group of volunteers who will help us with tree surveys in Salford parks over summer.

We will also be looking at some of the diseases which are currently effecting our native trees. Ash dieback for example is a lethal disease and represents a substantial threat both to the UK’s forests and to amenity trees growing in parks and gardens.

We will be meeting in the park keepers base at the bottom of the Maxwell ramp in the park.

Please wear grippy shoes and bring a drink. Booking is essential.

Parking is available at Salford Museum and art gallery pay and display.

Organised by

Our aim is to make these places somewhere for everyone to enjoy. We do this through providing outdoor education, volunteer days, events, guided walks and nature conservation.

We work closely with friends groups, schools, voluntary organisations, local people and partner organisations to make Salford's parks, countryside and nature reserves safer, cleaner and greener.
