Event description
Footsteps' Summer Walk to visit Stirchley Fruit and Nut Village project.

About this Event

Our annual interfaith walk, to connect with creation and learn about an environmental initiative.  This year we will be visiting the Stirchley Fruit & Nut Village.

Friendly social distancing will be practised - remember to stay at least 2m apart from anyone outside your household.  Please book in advance to help us manage numbers, and for track and trace if needed.  If wet weather forces us to cancel, we will contact those who have booked.

Suitable for all ages, so please feel free to bring children.

Meet for 2pm in Stirchley Park. Enter by the footpath from Ribblesdale Rd, which is to the right of Morrison's car park. It's a small park so you can't miss us!

We will then walk for about an hour and a half with several stops, to look at the community tree planting and grafting, and fruit growing projects in the neighbourhood. They are an inspiring example of green healthy community living.

We will be led by Felipe Molina and Rob Tilling of Food Forest Brum, who will explain the projects and how they benefit the well being of the local community.

We will finish by the Rea Valley cycle path (near where it crosses Hazelwell Road) where there will be an opportunity to sit and socialise at a distance.

More information on our website, including options for low-carbon travel to the event, and what to bring.
