Event description
Marking 125 years since Sun Yat-sen was kidnapped in London, a guided walk to places associated with the life of China's future president

About this event

*NB rescheduled from 10 October because of a diary clash. Now on 17 October*

A walking tour with Bill Hayton, author of 'The Invention of China', connecting the life of Sun Yat-sen with the places in London where he lived, worked and was kidnapped during nine eventful months in 1896/97.

The walk is about two miles long and will take about two hours with stops for talks. We'll start from the Portland Place area (W1) and end near Chancery Lane ( WC1).

There is a charge for the tickets to try to make sure people who sign up actually come. Proceeds will be given to 'Rooms for Refugees', a registered charity helping to resettle people fleeing persecution (including, at this time, many people from Afghanistan).

There will be a chance to buy signed copies of my 'Invention of China' book, if you wish.
