We are now in a national lockdown. Whilst we are still able to provide a service to you, please only book a ticket to use the Main Library if your visit is absolutely necessary. If you wish to return books or print please note you can do this by visiting the Wolfson Room without the need of booking a ticket. We have additional study spaces available across campus including at the OLRC Library alongside a number of study spaces that remain open on Campus. This includes the Teaching and Learning Building https://www.birmingham.ac.uk/university/building/teaching-and-learning-building.aspx You will be required to cover your nose and mouth at all times (unless exempt) to keep you, your friends, family and our staff as safe as possible. Please ensure you stick to our current rules; observe social distancing measures, only sit on designated ‘Sit Here’ labelled desks and using hand sanitiser. Not adhering to this will result you in being asked to leave the library.

We endeavour to make as many opportunities for those who need to use our libraries/T&L Building. We are using a booking system to manage access as fairly as we can.

• We know you understand that capacity is limited so we ask that you:

o Only make bookings if you are in one of the groups who need to be on campus at present (in accordance with the latest government guidance)

o Cancel any bookings if you can no longer make it; let someone else have the opportunity making a booking

Access is limited to University of Birmingham staff and students only.

o Take another look at what we offer virtually- we have a range of virtual services including skills support, our enquiry service and are constantly improving our online resources to support research, teaching and learning.

If we reach maximum capacity and you leave the building, you must take your belongings with you, because to return you will be asked to queue as it will be one in one out, in order to control numbers in the building. You do not need to rebook, but we cannot guarantee waiting times as this will depend on demand.
