What is Sunday Assembly?
It's a joyful gathering where everyone’s welcome—no matter your background or beliefs.
We come together to listen to interesting and inspiring talks , sing along to uplifting songs , and meet a genuinely friendly bunch of people who love a good chat and a laugh. It’s all about celebrating life and all the brilliant things Sheffield has to offer.
Curious? Come along, bring a friend, and see what it’s all about. You might just leave with a smile on your face and a song stuck in your head.
Jim Steinke has been an atheist for 54 years and over that time, has worked passionately towards the common good in a multitude of roles. He has two stints as a city councillor; has managed homelessness projects locally and nationally; and has spent 13 years managing organisation dealing with refugees and asylum seekers. Most recently, he was elected as a Patient Governor for Sheffield Teaching Hospitals. Though he is an atheist, he has worked closely with those of different faiths in an effort to do more good.
Jim will be in conversation with our organiser, Raj Le Blanc, exploring a life dedicated to trying to make the world around us a better place.
