About this event

Make space for some ME TIME in your busy schedule. Bring along your creative crafting project that you want to work on during this social event for two hours of uninterrupted crafting! Meet other like minded crafters, connect with other makers, be inspired and swap ideas and tips about your craft, whilst enjoying your favourite coffee and cake.

There are no limits as to which craft you can bring along, as long as it can fit on your cafe table space. Crafters have brought along: knitting, crochet, embroidery, sewing, patchwork, needle felting, jewellery making, sketching in watercolours, painting in acrylics, cardboard & papier mache modelling, Lego building and even poetry writing.

If you want some help with your crafting skills and ideas, why not join our group and see if other crafters can help you out? You may be thinking of trying out a new hobby? Come along and learn from experienced crafters who are passionate about their craft.

All crafters must be 18 years plus. Please buy a Sunday Crafternoon ticket on Eventbrite (£3 plus 96p fee). An Eventbrite ticket guarantees your place at the event and confirms your RSVP. Please have your ticket ready to show at the event, either a paper print out or on your smart phone. Thank you.

We meet for the first three Sundays in the month so please check the schedule for your next Sunday Crafternoon event. You do not have to attend each event to be part of our crafting community.

Paid parking (RINGO app) on Sundays: St George's car park and Lea Road car park (both close to the venue). Most residential streets are free but please check each road's signage. The buses pass the venue on the High Street. Beckenham tram and rail station is a short walk to the venue.

The Rendezvous Caffe menu is amazing and you will be spoilt for choice! We ask each crafter buys at least one drink during the Crafternoon session. However, we are certain you will want more than a delicious coffee! Each crafter is responsible for settling their own tab with the cafe either during or at the end of the crafting session. The cafe also has a loyalty card when you get your tenth drink free.

Rendezvous Caffe is accessible by wheel chair. There is a ramp at street level to the inside of the cafe. The whole cafe is at ground level. The toilet is not a disabled loo but does have ample space to move around in.

Please buy a ticket online at Eventbrite before attending the event and have it ready to show the organiser on the day. Early Bird prices apply up until Friday 15th August 20.00hrs using code: CREATIVES50. This will buy you a ticket for £3.41 (incl EB Fess). After this time, you can still buy a Sunday Crafternoon ticket, but it will be at the full price of £3.96 (incl EB fees). A bought ticket is your RSVP to the event.

We look forward to meeting you for some more crafting together.

Frequently asked questions

Can I bring children?

This event is for adults only.

What is the venue/ cafe like?

Rendezvous Cafe is a great coffee shop selling a wide range of food & drinks. You will be spoilt for choice. Each crafter pays for their own tab, which can be settled at the end of the session or when you order at the bar. We ask that each crafter buys at least a drink during the event.

Is the venue wheelchair friendly?

Yes. There's a ramp from street level to the cafe. The space we use to craft together is on ground level. The loo isn't a disabled loo, however, it has ample space to move around.

Do I need to attend each event to be part of the group?

You can join us as often as you like & as to what fits in with your schedule. We are a diverse group of crafters and are a safe space to learn & develop your craft.

Do you work with community projects?

Yes we do. We are happy to collaborate with organisations and charities to share the love of crafting. So far, we have handmade hats for the local Salvation Army outreach team. We are also part of other charity projects that make granny squares to make #blanketsforlondon and #blanketsfortheworld.

What craft can I bring to the Crafternoon?

Any craft you like as long as it can fit on your cafe table space. We welcome whatever crafters want to bring to the crafting table. If you need help with your craft project, then this is the place to be!

Is there car parking at the venue (cafe)?

There is Ringo paid car parking at St Georges Road, Lea Road and Village Way. You will need to pre pay your parking using the Ringo app. These charges apply for 7 days a week, 7.30am to 9pm, with the following rates: 90p for up to one hour, £1.60 for up to two hours, £2.20 for up to three hours.

Is there public transport near the venue (cafe)?

Yes. All the buses pass through the High Street. Beckenham rail and tram station is a short walk to the cafe.

Can I swap my crafting stash with other crafters?

Yes, we encourage sustainability & swapping stash you no longer need with another crafter. We occasionally do a stash swap at a scheduled event, so we will let you know when that happens, but you can always bring a crafting product with you & see if anybody else would like it on any event.

Where can I view the creative makes made by your crafters?

Please go to look at FB: Becci Crochet.

Do I need a ticket to attend the event?

Yes please. Your Eventbrite ticket is your RSVP to the event & you will need to have this ready to show the organiser on the day of the event. We offer Early Bird discounts for crafters who pay by the Friday (20.00hrs) before the Sunday event. Please note each event has its own promo code.

Do you teach crochet to crafters?

The group is a social crafting group. If you have started to learn crochet in your own time and need some tips on making progress with your craft then that's OK. If you're interested in learning crochet without any prior experience then please speak to Becci for 1:1 sessions.
