Overview

A Hare Krishna spiritual recharge festival including music, meditation, philosophy and a sumptuous vegetarian feast!

Atma Lounge Sunday Feast

Because spirituality is not an empty, dry, boring affair, the Sunday Feast is a great opportunity to gain the full, enlivening and exciting experience of universal spirituality.

Engage all your senses in spiritual experiences; your consciousness will be uplifted through mantra, music, meditation and even food! Join us for a truly spiritual experience with musical meditation, philosophical discussion on the Bhagavad-gita and a sumptuous vegetarian feast.

The Bhagavad-gita is an ancient text that describes how to transform one's work into yoga and provides disciplines that allow one to experience God in all things.

Everyone of all ages and backgrounds is welcome to join us! Our program lasts a few hours, but you are welcome to arrive late or leave early depending on your commitments.

4.00-4.30pm: Musical meditation (kirtan)

4.30-5.30pm: Bhagavad Gita discourse

5.30pm-5.45pm: Stand-up kirtan

5.45pm onwards: Vegetarian Feast

Before each program, we also run a street parade (harinama; 3pm-4pm) if you would like to watch.

About Atma Lounge

Priya Kunda Das and Syama Gauri Devi Dasi opened Atma Lounge in Folkestone, Kent, in October 2016 to give people an opportunity to learn about and experience the culture and wisdom of the Vedas from ancient India.

Our aim is to cultivate the loving and encouraging mood of our great spiritual teacher His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada - the Founder-Acarya of the International Society of Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) - and his dear disciple HH Kesava Bharati Dasa Goswami.

We have been spiritual practitioners of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) for over 20 years. We are passionate about creating a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for everyone. We have exciting programmes running throughout the week: We offer meditation classes, reading groups and a special Sunday Feast Programme. We invite you, your friends and family to come and participate in our programs. There is something of interest for everyone.

ISKCON was founded by His Divine Grace A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda in New York City in 1966. ISKCON belongs to the Gaudiya-Vaishnava sampradāya, a monotheistic tradition associated with ancient India. It is based on the devotional bhakti yoga texts, Bhagavad-gītā and Srimad Bhagavatam. These teach that the ultimate goal for all living beings is to reawaken their love for God, or Lord Krishna, the “all-attractive one”. God is known across the world by many names including Allah, Jehovah, Yahweh, Rama, etc. ISKCON devotees chant God’s names in the form of the Maha-Mantra, the great prayer for deliverance:

Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna, Krishna Krishna, Hare Hare

Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare
