Event description

Description

For our May edition of Sunday Night Live get ready for two artists that know how to perform and will bring a real mix of music to the table. Our headliner is a rising star from Kazakhstan and our supporting act is a super talented young man from South Korea.

Headlining we have BOTA, pop princess from Kazakhstan who wants to be their first international star. Starting out as a classical pianist in her home country she moved to London to pursue her dreams and graduated with Bachelor's degree from BIMM (British and Irish Modern Music Institute) and with Master's degree in music business from the London College of Music. She has been working on developing her own sound ever since. Her soft but charismatic and persuasive vocals has been compared to superstar contemporaries such as KYLIE & BRITNEY. Whilst studying at the music university BOTA has started to work with an award-winning music Producer Benny D. This culminated with BOTA signing a contract with LAD (London Artist Development) programme and recording her first potential album at Benny D's recording studio Powerstudio. One of the album's singles 'You + Me' was sent to the renowned Russian music producer Baigali Serkebayev, who initiated BOTA's collaboration with the boys band 'The Jigits'. Released in February 2016, the single 'You + Me' got likes from Russian and Kazakhstan media. In 2017, Bota has released her debut Pop single called 'Special', which has so far got 45K view on her official YouTube VEVO channel and gathered attention from music industry specialists. Alongside her music career, BOTA also takes part in the various creative projects. Her unique Asian look does not go unnoticed. Recently, she has caught attention from the world-famous music band Gorillaz, who featured her as a 'Geisha character' in their latest music video 'Strobelite'. Moreover, Bota has taken part in the newest Taylor Swift ft. Ed Sheeran's music video 'End Game'.

So join us on at Sunday Night Live and support these new, emerging and talented musicians. Tickets are £15 and Oblique members get 50% off!

SUNDAY NIGHT LIVE: THE CONCEPT

We live in the ‘concert generation’ where most of our live music experiences happen in large venues, watching our favourite artists perform at us. There is no questioning how amazing these performances are, but they will never be able to give the audience the truest musical experience.

This is why we are bringing you ‘Sunday Night Live’ where we want to give our audiences the best live music experience by putting FUN back into the night. We want to transform our venue into a haven where people will witness undiscovered, unheard and rising talent whilst letting loose, meeting new people and most importantly letting the music take over them! Sunday Night Live will not be the place where you finish your week, but instead start the new week with energy, happiness and life!

The gig will take place on the second Sunday of every month at Burlock (behind Selfridges) and will have the maintain the same format each session:
– Part 1: The first performance will 30 minutes long and normally an acoustic set by an artist that plays music for a hobby, wants a platform to perform to their friends or just wants to trial some new music
– Part 2: The second performance will be 1 – 1.5 hours long, headlined by an up and coming artist looking to launch an album or EP or an established artist that wants to perform their music
