Event description

Description

(Taught in a combination of Dutch and English.)

During this bootcamp of five weekly workshops on Sunday afternoons, kids ages 7-12 will learn about computer science (the principles which guide all technology) by using and designing robots which can play popular (no tech) games. Kids will begin by designing and building robots to play traditional games before finishing by designing their own robot game, complete with rules, strategies and point systems.

Think of Dominos and pinball machines. Kids will work in small teams to and take turns working as the team’s designer, builder and programmer. The tools used in the class will be Ozobots, LEGO WeDo and LEGO Mindstorms.

Our program will be taught in a combination of English and Dutch by a professional teacher with specialised computer science education training.

Please note: this is NOT an online gaming bootcamp!

Workshops will take place on Sunday afternoons from 14:00 - 15:30 on the following dates:
- January 12, 19, 26
- February 2, 9 (February 2 class will take in another location TBD)

Our program is ideal for children with no previous exposure to computer science and those who have previously participated in NewTechKids programs. A minimum of 15 students is required to offer this program. Registrants will be notified one week prior if the program is cancelled and a full refund will be provided.
