Sunderland has long been an area renowned for its ability to create. In the nineteenth century the area was home to a wide range of manufacturing industries, including glass making, potteries, limestone quarrying, coal mining and shipbuilding.

While these industries are now little more than marks on the landscape, the Sunderland of the 21st century is home to a burgeoning digital and creative sector, with web, software and games development, cutting edge film and tv production, media, and high-end technology companies calling Sunderland home.

Sunderland Digital aims to bring together and enrich this digital community through a series of informal monthly meetups and talks.
