Sunderland Lit & Phil Society: Can You Seperate Art from The Artist?

Has your favourite artist been cancelled for their views or their troubling behaviour?

Are you questioning your moral standpoints by excusing an Artist and enjoying their art?

This is the first of our monthly Philosophy Discussion groups, which are going to be reserved for Members Only, but this is a trial session for you to come along and see if it's for you!

The discussion will start at 6:30 pm with doors opening at 6 pm to give you a chance to grab a drink, meet your fellow philosophers and settle in for an evening of discussion.

Whether you have experience with Philosophy or not, there is room for all opinions and reflections. We see this as an opportunity to get us thinking and talking about a topic most of us have an opinion on! You might come prepared with some examples of Artists you've struggled with, a philosopher's critique of the topic, or nothing but your own musings.

All are welcome.

Each month, we will choose a different topic selected from member suggestions.

It will be an informal evening centred on building confidence and skills in discussing philosophical topics.
