Together we’ll take on a 10-mile guided hike along the beautiful Border Ridge, crossing into Scotland as the first light of day breaks across the horizon. Surrounded by stunning landscapes, fresh air, and a supportive group, this is the perfect way to reset, recharge, and reconnect.
This is more than just a walk. It’s a chance to look after yourself, set positive intentions, and do something incredible for others too. By taking part, you’ll also be supporting Shelter’s vital work to fight the housing emergency.

Frequently asked questions
This is a moderate 10 mile walk with some short, steep ascents, so you do need to be fit. We highly recommend you do go out for some long walks, and also include a few hills.
You will need to carry food, drinks, and lots of snack items. We recommend carrying at least two litres of liquid.
Shelter's events team will issue a kit list closer to the time, but you will need to wear suitable comfortable outdoor gear (no jeans or cotton t shirts), including good quality walking boots and a waterproof jacket/pants. You will also need to bring your own packed lunch and drinks.
The route involves a walk along the Border Ridge, and crossing into Scotland, where we will see the sunrise. We will then continue the walk, following a circular route back to the start. You can expect to be out for 5/6 hours and cover around 10 miles.
