Event description
Hop aboard & take to the seas - To discover and help us protect our unique marine heritage here in Sussex.

About this event

Join the Sussex Dolphin Project on our sunset wildlife cruise to learn about and hopefully see some of our amazing marine wildlife here in Sussex.

Whilst Dolphin sightings this close to shore are rare, you will learn all about our Sussex Dolphins and the other amazing animals living off our beaches, including Seahorses, Sharks, Lobsters, and Fish!

There will be time to view seabirds and listen to underwater sounds, before taking in a unique view of Brighton’s seafront as the sun sets (weather permitting!) behind the West Pier and i360!

Cruises leave from Brighton Marina promptly at the allocated start time. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the cruise is set to begin.

All proceeds directly fund the Sussex Dolphin Project. The project studies the local dolphin population and works with local communities to better understand and protect our unique marine natural heritage!

You’ll have a whale of a time!

Organiser Sussex Dolphin Project

Organiser of Sunset Wildlife Cruise

The Sussex Dolphin Project is proud to be a project of the World Cetacean Alliance (WCA), working to raise awareness and compile information about the amazing dolphins and porpoises that are found around the Sussex coast. We can be found at our Shoreham Ports Office in Unit 4, 132-134 Albion Street.

The World Cetacean Alliance is the world’s largest Partnership working to protect whales, dolphins and porpoises (cetaceans). Together we represent nearly 100 Partners in many countries worldwide and we are expanding rapidly. Through cooperation, the Partners of the World Cetacean Alliance aim to conserve and protect cetaceans and their habitats in the world’s oceans, seas and rivers, to ensure their continued health and survival. The WCA is committed to preventing all cetaceans from being held in captivity except for rehabilitation and release purposes. We are also developing and implementing new concepts for responsible whale and dolphin watching with the potential to inspire and educate millions of people. Finally, we aim to expand the global community of people who care for cetaceans, have a desire to learn about them, and respect them.

We work to raise awareness of the threats facing our oceans, and the conservation efforts which are employed to help mitigate against any further damage. Through our Partners, we work internationally, but are also working to strengthen our local network here in Brighton.
