We are pleased to announce that from 1 August 2025, members can access the new High Performance Computing Framework. This new standalone framework replaces lot 4 of the SSSNA. The retendered agreement provides a compliant and responsible route for universities to purchase High Performance Computers.

Offering a cost-effective procurement option with 7 expert suppliers that have extensive experience in servicing the HE sector. The agreement will run for a 2-year period from 18th July 2025 with a permissible extension through to 17th July 2029 if invoked. The agreement is open to all SUPC members, as well as those from the following consortia: HEPCW, LUPC, NEUPC, NWUPC and APUC.

This framework includes high performance computers.

Key benefits of using the High Performance Computing Framework Agreement:

· Procurement Efficiency - Reduces time and administrative costs associated with repeatedly negotiating contracts. Once the framework is in place, individual orders (call-offs) can be made quickly under pre-agreed terms

· Agreed Pricing - Pre-negotiated pricing or discount structures can lead to cost savings and easier budgeting.Improved SRM - Encourages long-term collaboration, which can lead to better service, innovation, and problem-solving. Strategic partnerships are being emphasized more than transactional supplier relationships

· Agreed Pricing - Pre-negotiated pricing or discount structures can lead to cost savings and easier budgeting.

· Better Compliance - Centralised agreements allow for better control over legal, ethical, and quality standards across multiple purchases.

· Expert Suppliers – 7 suppliers who have vast experience of working with the HE sector.

· Framework Levy of 0.5%

· Direct Award to the top ranked supplier

· All hardware pricing includes a standard 5-year next business day fix on-site warranty, together with an options to extend the warranty period up to 7 years.

· New Call off Contract for Institutions to use as template for contracting with suppliers
