About this event

Community • Heritage

How do we, as individuals, meaningfully engage with super-diverse societies where no dominant culture exists? How do we, collectively as a society, represent and include marginalised or minoritised voices in public cultural spaces?

Do you, as an individual member of the audience or a cultural sector worker, feel welcome, included and look forward to participating in events held in public cultural spaces?

This interactive panel discussion will invite the audience to engage with these themes through an interactive conversation led by the panel members and a creative production of postcards which will be used to ‘curate’ the discussion.

As a member of the audience and an active participant you will reflect on cultural engagements across cultures in your everyday life and produce a postcard. A selection of postcards will be included in the final exhibition event at Leicester’s Highcross Shopping Centre.

This event is for residents and visitors to Leicester. It is a part of the De Montfort University Being Human Festival 2025 Hub Programme.

This event is part of Being Human Festival, the UK’s national festival of the humanities, taking place 6 - 15 November 2025. Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
