We love to travel. We have travelled throughout history and continue to do so in our millions to further and more exotic corners of our planet, and beyond, discovering new sights, art, architecture, languages, foods and people. Travel gives us perspective on how big – and small – the world really is. Traveling expands our minds and creativity, and it influences all aspects of our lives at home, at work and at play. In this talk we will explore how travel has influenced the world of design. The panelists will be sharing their own travel experiences and how these have affected their own aesthetic and discussing how global mobility has impacted the industry and public attitude to design. The talk will examine various elements of travel and design, including environmental issues, the importance of supporting and promoting traditional artisans, education and the part played by social media.
