What to Expect:Join published poet and performer Mark Grist for a 45-minute interactive poetry workshop designed to spark creativity, confidence and fun. Celebrating the National Poetry Day theme of ‘PLAY’, this lively session invites children to experiment with language, share ideas, and create their own joyful poetic expressions.
What’s included:
- A fun, interactive and engaging poetry workshop, where Mark models how to write a poem using children’s own suggestions. Together, participants will build a group poem while also creating their own.
- A performance reading of Bears Don’t Get Scared, the story of brave Bella the Bear who learns that even the boldest of us can feel fear—and that’s okay.
- Activities carefully shaped by the latest EEF guidance on KS1 literacy, helping children build speaking, listening, and comprehension skills while having fun with language.
