Connect to the Future - Use digital technology to boost your business communication

Goonhilly Earth Station

Thursday 19 October 2017

9.30am – 4pm

Digital Technologies can open up new and exciting opportunities for business communication and what better place to explore this than at Space Communication Gateway, Goonhilly Earth Station.

This one day conference will explore what technologies businesses can harness to improve their communications and grow.

From person to person communications, artificial intelligence and collaboration technologies; to the potential of machine to machine messages and the internet of things.

Businesses attending are promised a jargon-free event featuring workshops, networking opportunities, tours of Goonhilly Earth Station and a digital surgery with the service’s Digital Business Advisers. The two keynote speakers at the event will be:

Dr Simon Moores - Former Technology Ambassador for the British Government, Simon specialises in emerging technologies and predicting the future for business in a digital age. He was rated in the Top Ten of UK Tech Thought Leaders in 2014. Simon will look at the many technologies now driving the evolution and direction of businesses of all sizes, including the implications surrounding the arrival of the internet of things (IoT) and advances in AI and machine learning.

Garry Barter - CEO and one of the founders of Cornwall-based AI company Hertzian, Garry will describe Hertzian’s experience of bringing AI into the day-to-day operations of an SME and will share his experiences of using external AI-powered tools, the pitfalls of building your own tools and where AI will help in the future.

In addition to this Ben Whorwood from Newquay based tech company Mube will be running a workshop on collaboration technology: Collaborating across time and space: the power of plain-text and working together in real-time.

PLEASE NOTE DUE TO SECURITY REASONS AT GOONHILLY YOU MUST BOOK YOUR PLACE AT THIS EVENT IN ADVANCE.

Please be aware that filming and photography, including of delegates, will be taking place at the event.
