Our volunteering fairs are the perfect opportunity for organisations and volunteers to be in the same room, at the same time and to get the 'volunteering ball rolling'.
And this year we are once again joining forces during UK Volunteers' Week with our good friends at Volunteer Centre Islington to bring together more organisations with many opportunities to choose from and more people looking to volunteer. Nice one!
Come and see us in the heart of King's Cross at:
- Voluntary Action Islington, 200a Pentonville Road, King's Cross, N1 9JP
* If you're a person who wants to volunteer, just turn up on the day.
** If you're an organisation, you're in the right place to make your booking. (Please note: you only need to make one booking per organisation. Thanks.)
*** Please note: To attend our fairs, you will need to register your volunteering opportunities on our online matching tool, Volunteer Connect. This is quick and easy to do. And extends your volunteer recruitment reach. :)
What can/can't I bring to the event?
Bring any publicity materials you may have that relates to your organisation (postcards, leaflets etc). Remember you are selling your volunteering opportunities, so the more information the better!
If space allows, you will have a shared table with another organisation. If the venue is smaller, then there will be one table for publicity materials and you will move around the room chatting to volunteers more informally. This will vary from venue to venue and we will let you know the room layout when you arrive.
You can also bring banners and posters and anything else you want to make your organisation more visible. You may also want to bring your diary or sign-up sheet to schedule organisational visits or visits for your potential recruits.
Can I update my registration information?
Yes! Feel free to log in make amendments at any time.
Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
No need! We will have your organisations' name on the registration list.
What is the refund policy?
We will charge organisations £50 if you do not attend the fair AND you have not given at least three working days' notice that you will cancel your booking. For this event that means midday on Thursday 1st June.
Why do I need to give three working days' notice if I cannot attend?
We aim to give the best experience possible to people who take the time to attend our fairs. The more organisations that attend the fair, the more likely it is that volunteers will find their perfect volunteering role. We always have a waiting list of more than ten organisations. If we know in good time that a place has become available, there is a better chance of another organisation being able to attend on the day. This would not be possible if we allowed for late cancellations.
