About this event

This short course provides learners with an in-depth understanding of mental health conditions and the ability to identify suspected concerns. Delegates will also learn about the support and help provided by healthcare professionals, how to provide advice and start a conversation.

The Supervising First Aid for Mental Health course is aimed at supporting those currently working in supervisory, managerial and leadership roles; it builds on the learnings from Levels 1 and 2.

The course content includes a general look at what First Aid for Mental Health is. Delegates will then study mental health concerns including personality disorders, bipolar disorder, psychosis, schizophrenia, eating disorders, depression and anxiety. Learners will also explore the impact of stress on mental health, suicide, self-harm, and post-traumatic stress disorder. They’ll look at ways to implement a positive mental health culture within the workplace, and delve into the effects of drugs and alcohol on mental wellbeing.

The interactive online workshop is delivered by qualified tutors, each with a background of working within the mental health industry. All learning resources are included.

The assessment for this course will be completed remotely.

*This course is not applicable for young people under the age of 18. "
