Supervision for Spiritual Directors
20 – 21 May & 10 – 11June
This is a 4 day training course in supervision for those working as spiritual directors taking place on 2 weekends: both Saturday and Sunday from 11 – 4.
Topics to be covered include:
- Definitions of supervision
- The tasks of supervision and skills required
- Models and stages of supervision
- Challenge and confrontative skills
- The practice of supervision
- Preparation and contact
- Creative and group supervision
Antonia is an experienced spiritual director and has been a tutor on the Ignatian Spirituality Course as well as Encounter, where she now teaches on the third year, introducing participants to the experience of supervision as they begin their ministry. She has facilitated supervision groups for the Centre for over 10 years, and now has four groups here as well as a private practice seeing people one-to-one. She has provided supervision for a number of Weeks of Accompanied Prayer.
Julie Leger Dunstan
Julie has recently been appointed Director for Formation and Professional Development at the London Centre for Spiritual Direction. She has worked extensively in the field of listening both as psychotherapist and spiritual director, and has supervised other people’s work for a number of years. She is also an experienced trainer
